Federal employees would receive an average 4.1 percent pay increase next year under legislation introduced today and endorsed by NTEU.
The Federal Adjustment of Income Rates (FAIR) Act, sponsored by Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) and Rep. James Walkinshaw (D-VA), would provide a 3.1 percent across-the-board increase plus an average 1 percent for locality pay.
About 85 percent of all federal employees live and work outside of the Washington D.C. region, so a raise will improve federal paychecks and boost the economy in every city and state across the country.
