Legislation to restore union rights for federal workers has received enough bipartisan support in the U.S. House to guarantee a floor vote.
The Protect America’s Workforce Act (H.R. 2550) would repeal President Trump’s executive order that stripped union rights away from frontline federal employees in multiple agencies, including many represented by NTEU.
Now that 218 members of the U.S. House have signed a discharge petition for the bill, the Speaker of the House must schedule a floor vote.
The bill has 223 bipartisan sponsors, indicating widespread support for federal employees maintaining their lawful right to organize, bargain collectively and stand together for better working conditions at their agencies.
NTEU also challenged the March 27 executive order in court, and we await a decision in that case.
Urge your member of Congress to vote for H.R. 2550 when it comes to the floor.
