Monday night, one day after 60 Senators agreed to move legislation to reopen the government, the Senate passed a continuing resolution (CR).
The legislation would fund agencies and programs covered by the Agriculture/FDA, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and the Legislative Branch appropriations bills for the remainder of FY 2026 while extending current funding levels to the rest of government through January 30, 2026. The bill also provides back pay to all federal employees, including those furloughed during the shutdown, overturns the RIFs initiated during the shutdown and prohibits RIFs during the CR.
The House is expected to take up the bill on Wednesday.
Urge your members of Congress to fund the government, pay all federal workers, and ensure agencies have the funding and resources they need to serve the American people.
