Late Sunday night, the Senate got the 60 votes needed to advance legislation to reopen the government.
The bipartisan agreement would fund agencies and programs covered by the Agriculture/FDA, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and the Legislative Branch appropriations bills for the remainder of FY 2026, largely without funding cuts proposed in the President’s budget request, while extending current funding levels to the rest of government through January 30, 2026.
