Congress Must Work Together and Reopen the Government.

Once again, the Senate voted and failed to pass the Republican continuing resolution (CR), H.R. 5371, which would extend funding for agencies and programs through November 21.

Senate Majority Leader Thune (R-SD) is no longer allowing a vote on the Democratic CR, S. 2882, which would extend current funding levels through October 31, 2025, address increasing health insurance premiums, and limit the ability of the administration to rescind appropriated funds. When the government shuts down, our country loses billions, and federal employees are left in financial limbo. Remind Congress that federal employees serve the public every day — and deserve better than to be caught in the middle of a political fight.

Congress must act immediately to:

  • Pass a bipartisan funding agreement

  • Reopen the government

  • Ensure that agencies have the funding and resources they need to serve the American people
