Congress has one week to pass a funding bill to keep the government open.
Congress must work together to find a way forward and get the government funded!
The House passed a short-term funding bill (H.R. 5371), but the Senate failed to pass either that measure or the Democratic alternative (S. 2882). Without a bipartisan agreement, federal agencies will shut down on October 1, jeopardizing vital services for the American people and the livelihoods of federal employees across the country.
Any government funding bill needs 60 votes in the Senate, requiring a bipartisan agreement to pass. Ask Congress to do their work!
Urge your members of Congress to negotiate a bipartisan agreement to ensure agencies have the funding and resources they need to serve the American people.
NTEU will keep you updated as negotiations continue.
