CBP Officers Help Return Stolen Historical Artifacts to Ukraine

Stolen cultural artifacts from Ukraine were recently returned to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanks to CBP Officers and Chapter 153 (CBP JFK) members at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The artifacts were seized last month by members of CBP’s Trade Intelligence Enforcement Response (TIER) team and returned to President Zelenskyy during a repatriation ceremony.

The centuries-old artifacts included iron axes, pickaxes, swords and spearheads.

"I am immensely proud of the dedication and expertise displayed by our TIER team,” said Chapter 153 President Lucky Singh. “They have an unwavering commitment to identifying and halting high-risk commercial shipments and preserving cultural heritage and international partnerships."

NTEU is proud to represent highly-skilled CBP employees at JFK and at ports of entry nationwide.
