Additional Guidance on Vaccine-related Leave Released

The COVID-19 Safer Federal Workforce Task Force released additional FAQs on vaccine-related leave.

Here are highlights:

-The FAQs reiterate that agencies are required to offer a minimum of four hours of administrative leave to receive any dose of the COVID-19 vaccine;

-Agencies must offer employees up to two days of administrative leave to recover from adverse reactions related to any COVID-19 dose; and

-Agencies must grant up to four hours of administrative leave, per dose, for employees to accompany a family member receiving a COVID-19 vaccination.

No employees are required to be vaccinated under the policies as laid out by the COVID-19 Safer Federal Workforce Task Force, but agencies are required to develop such testing programs for federal employees and contractor employees who work onsite, and who are not fully vaccinated or who have declined to provide their vaccination information.

NTEU will continue to engage with agencies as they develop and implement vaccine and testing programs.
