NTEU Chapter Members Take Care of Their Own

Lupita De La Fuente has served as a federal employee for over 40 years, and has become a true staple at NTEU Chapter 160 (CBP Brownsville).

Lupita is also the sole care giver for her special needs grandson. She is committed to her work and her grandson.

Earlier this month, Chapter 160 wanted to do something for Lupita’s family, and presented her with needed school supplies, school uniforms and a substantial gift card for the upcoming school year. Chapter 160 stewards, Javier Nieto and Cindy Gutierrez are shown below with Markie and Lupita delivering the donated items which will make sure Markie is off to a great start to the school year.

This was a bright spot for Lupita and her family after being locked in battle with CBP for months over the inability to access her work station due to a disability. But because of the hard work of NTEU, Lupita is excited to return to work this week, performing the job she cares about.
