Free Flu Shots for Federal Employees

Medical Kit

Flu season is approaching, but there’s something you can do to protect yourself and your family—and it’s free.

Most plans under the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) cover flu shots at pharmacies and retail stores, in addition to doctor’s offices and clinics, with no co-pays when in-network. Many federal agencies also offer flu shots onsite at no or low cost. Use your ZIP code to find a nearby location to get your flu shot. Be sure to always ask about full coverage before receiving care.

An annual flu vaccine is one of the best ways to protect yourself against the flu. Unlike the common cold, the flu can last two or more weeks and cause serious complications such as pneumonia. Each year, the flu affects millions of people, causing thousands of hospitalizations and deaths, and costing billions to the economy.
