Members Educate New Senator On Federal Employee Issues

Chapter 68

Chapter 68 (IRS Andover Campus) leaders wasted no time meeting with their newly-elected senator and educating her on federal employee issues.

Last week, Chapter President Gary Karibian (pictured right) and District Vice President Robert Harrington (left) met with Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) in her district office. In addition to advancing NTEU’s legislative priorities, the NTEU leaders voiced their opposition to the administration’s recent federal hiring freeze.

Karibian reported that Sen. Hassan expressed support for NTEU and its legislative agenda.

Next month, Karibian will join hundreds of NTEU members from across the country in Washington, D.C., for the union’s annual Legislative Conference. During the three-day lobbying event, members will meet with their elected officials to advance NTEU’s legislative agenda, which calls for fair pay, protecting retirement benefits, affordable health care workplace fairness and resources to achieve agency missions.
