Political POWER Program
The new reporting form will focus on grassroots activities,
the outcome of these activities, and union-wide grassroots participation.
The POWER
reporting form has been revamped and changes include:
• The elimination of the point system. You will still be asked to
provide backup information to support the answers to the questions.
• The elimination of chapter bargaining unit size notation.
Program Incentives
• All chapters that file POWER Reports for both reporting periods
earn an invitation to a special event with the National President during
the annual Legislative Conference to discuss legislative and political issues.
• All chapters participating in POWER receive an NTEU certificate
of recognition.
• POWER participants that have had exceptional progress with their
members of Congress on NTEU legislative issues, conducted increased off-site
activities, and have at least 10 percent of membership participating in
TEPAC will obtain special recognition, which may include:
- NTEU POWER plaques for the chapter;
- Chapter recognition in an NTEU publication; and
- Chapter recognition at national training conferences.
Report Filing Dates

July-December: Report due Jan. 9
POWER Program Goals
The main goals for NTEU’s Grassroots Program, POWER, are;
• To maintain and enhance grassroots activity among chapters that
have been active in NTEU’s grassroots efforts and campaigns;
• To ensure that new chapters and legislative coordinators have the
tools they need to participate effectively in our grassroots efforts; and
• To increase participation among non-active chapters.
