Take a stand—join the Political POWER Program!                                                                 Return to Legislative Home

Want to increase your pay, health benefits, and retirement benefits? Join your fellow workers and become involved in the issues and elections that affect your job. As an active participant in NTEU’s Political and Legislative Program, you’ll have real clout in the political decision making process—especially when joined by other NTEU members throughout the nation.

What’s more, the POWER Program annually recognizes and rewards those chapters whose commitment to legislative and political activity is a model for other chapters. With your help, your chapter can demonstrate true political strength.

Make Your Voice Count

Elected officials make decisions everyday which affect the quality of your life. You have the power to influence these decisions by helping to elect supportive legislators, and by telling your representatives how you think they should vote.

Through the union’s Legislative and Political programs, your voice will be heard. Involvement in NTEU-sponsored legislative initiatives and political activities allows you to have an impact on policy issues that affect you, your family, and hundreds of thousands of other federal employees.

It’s Easy to Play a Part

The POWER Program is the means by which NTEU’s National staff integrates the legislative and political efforts of NTEU members into its overall strategy in Washington. By urging your chapter to complete and return quarterly POWER reports to NTEU Headquarters, you can be sure that all your efforts are being recognized and their effects are being maximized.

That’s all there is to it!
