The NTEU-IRS contract spells out your workplace rights on a host of issues critical to the quality of your work life—and that makes it important to other aspects of your life, too. It addresses awards, promotions, work hours, workload, flexiplace, Internet access, performance appraisals and so much more.

It is the single most important document in the work life of every IRS employee. But the rights, protections and benefits NTEU fought so hard for are only words on paper until you claim them, assert them, and exercise them. That's why NTEU is working to educate employees on their new contract.

Each local NTEU chapter has representatives chosen from among the employees who are called stewards, chief stewards or chapter president. Annual Leave
You plan for it, save for it and look forward to it for weeks. It's your vacation. Make sure you know your annual leave rights under the contract. Administrative Leave
Leave rights often lead to multiple questions and managers do not always have the correct answers. This quiz focuses on administrative leave rights contained in Article 36 of the NTEU-IRS term agreement. Performance Appraisals
Your evaluation determines whether you receive a performance award, are allowed to keep an alternative work schedule, get promoted and survive any future reduction-in-force.
